Helen Smith is a mum, wife, entrepreneur and owner of Byres Farm Venue - an event space and tourist attraction on the family farm in Moray.Join us as Helen shares her journey from growing up on a farm, stubbornly deciding to never marry a farmer, to marrying a farmer, becoming a Chartered Surveyor and then choosing entrepreneurship and flexibility after having her children, with the creation of her own business. Helen shares her passion for educating the public about farming, getting people out onto farms and providing opportunities for others in the rural sector. From her desire to “be mum” and be there for her children, Helen has created a varied business ranging from fairy, dinosaur and Santa trails / visits, to whisky tours sharing the start of the whisky process, alongside farm tours and a versatile events space.
