Episode 14: Ralph Johnson

from #EverydayGSD Podcast · host Darin Bibeau

Born in Massachusetts, raised in Southern New Hampshire and later moved to Boston where he finally found his passion in life. He ended up pursuing a culinary career, attended Le Cordon Blu and graduated at the top of his class before working for several renowned chefs such as Barbara Lynch, David Kinkead, Mario Batali and David Daniels.  He came across a flyer one day at work for open casting to be on Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen tv show and figured he would give it a shot. Out of the thousands of people that tried out, he was one of the 20 that made the show. Although he didn’t win, he made it all the way to the end where he contributed to the winning chef’s finale. Having worked his way up from a regular line cook to a Chef at the Fairmont Hotel in Battery Wharf Boston, he was recruited by the general manager to move to California to help manage the new team at Fairmont Newport Beach. After managing the kitchen for several years, a past Chef reached out to about a job in the Caribbean islands. He pursued the wild opportunity and became the Executive Chef at the world famous Straw Hat restaurant in Anguilla where he now has lived for the past seven years. A few things he's learned along the way was to never burn bridges as relationships are everything, never give up, and always get shit done everyday.Follow Ralph on Socials!Instagram ▶ https://instagram.com/ralpheejohnsonFacebook ▶https://www.facebook.com/ralph.johnson.5/Follow Darin on Socials!Instagram ▶ https://instagram.com/darinbibeau/Facebook ▶ https://www.facebook.com/DarinBibeauOfficialWebsite ▶ https://www.darinbibeau.com
