Episode 140: If It Isn't Broken, Don't Fix It: A Conversation with Registered Dietitian, Amy Goldsmith, Owner of Kindred Nutrition, on Stacy Sims' Book, Roar

from Run Farther & Faster — The Podcast with Coaches Lisa Levin and Julie Sapper · host Run Farther & Faster

In Episode 138, Dr. Stacy Sims joined us share how to implement her recommendations in Roar when training for endurance sports.  During the interview, Dr. Sims recommended that menopausal athletes stop using gels and salt tabs, among other nutrition recommendations that surprised us.  As a result, we reached out to past podcast guest and top registered dietitian, Amy Goldsmith, owner of Kindred Nutrition, about Dr. Sims' recommendations.  Amy has been practicing for almost 25 years and has worked with thousands of athletes, many of whom are women in their 40's, 50's and 60's.  As always, Amy provided sound guidance and clarification that you won't want to miss. Amy is the founder and owner of Kindred Nutrition (www.kindrednutrition.com) in which she specializes in sports nutrition and eating disorders and hosts the podcast, Don't Be Foodish (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dont-be-foodish/id1508612510).  Amy focuses on meeting all her clients where they currently are and focusing on education, re-framing the mind, and using food as fuel for your brain and body. She believes there is a strong connection between the gut and brain and focuses on both with all clients. In addition, as a sports nutritionist and dietitian, Amy assists with getting the client to peak performance by incorporating optimal nutrition before, during training, race time, and recovery.  Follow Amy on Instagram @kindrednutrition_frederick and subscribe to her podcast!   Interested in working with us?  Send us an email!  [email protected].
