Dr. Austell discusses a little bit about his background and his journey to becoming a psychologist. He discusses what a sports psychologist is and what they do, as well as specific areas that sports psychologists may assist with including performance enhancement, mental skills training, coping with injury, and identity formation. In addition to sports psychology, another area of Dr. Austell's expertise is learning disabilities and ADHD. Dr. Austell and I discuss what learning disabilities and ADHD are and the psychosocial impacts of such including and beyond the classroom setting.
