Episode 144 - A Conversation about a 3-Part Brain

from In Sanity: A piece of mind · host Stephanie Snuffer

The theory of the triune brain has been debunked with the new research showing that the brain is much more integrated that Paul MacLean's 1960s theory. However, it is useful in understanding the different functions of the brain and where in the brain they take place. Next week I will talk about some of the newer research and what overlaps and what is distinct. Also, Iain McGilchrist wrote the book The Master and His Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World which was the book I was referring to which talks about the integration of the different brain parts. Note: I have not finished this book. Dan Seigel: Hand Model of the Brain
