Her great-grandmother was born in Southold and graduated from Southold High School in 1880 before moving to East Hampton, where Mary herself spent time visiting the family farm.Since helping to establish Slow Food East End back in 2004, Mary has become a vital voice in shaping how we think about food, wine, sustainability, and our relationship to the land. She’s also been at the forefront of initiatives inspired by Project Drawdown and the growing movement around ReWilding, all while writing about wine and observing the East End’s food landscape with care and insight.Mary’s work blends local action with global vision, asking how communities like ours can nurture resilience in the face of climate change while keeping food, farming, and the natural world at the center of daily life.
