Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 66:5 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. -1 John 4:8 DEVOTION Based on 1 John 4 John makes the boldest statement in Scripture: God doesn't just have love or show love—He IS love. Love is His essence, His nature, His very being. Everything God does flows from love because He cannot act contrary to His nature. The test of knowing God isn't theological knowledge but love expression. If we don't love, we don't know God, regardless of our religious credentials. This verse both comforts and challenges. It comforts because God's every action toward us is motivated by love. It challenges because our love—or lack of it—reveals our true relationship with God. To know God is to become increasingly loving because we're being transformed into His image. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: God, You are love itself—pure, perfect, eternal love. Every attribute You possess is expressed through love. You cannot act outside of love because love is who You are. CONFESSION: I confess that my lack of love reveals my shallow knowledge of You. I've claimed to know You while living unlovingly. My heart has been cold when Yours burns with love. THANKSGIVING: Thank You that You are love—not sometimes but always, not partially but completely. Thank You that knowing You means being transformed by love and into love. SUPPLICATION: Father, help me know You more deeply so I can love more truly. Transform my heart to reflect Your loving nature. Let my life be proof that I know the God who is love. ❤️ PRAYER Come, and see God’s deeds— awesome work on behalf of the children of men. PSALM 66:5 Dear God, tonight as I wind down, I am reminded of the still waters that calm my soul. Your presence calms me like gentle waves against the shore. I thank You for the gift of another day. The challenges and triumphs of today have brought me one step closer to fulfilling Your purpose for my life. And as I close my eyes tonight, I pray that You will attend to the voice of my prayer and hear my deepest desires. Help me to align my will with Yours and to trust that Your plans for me are more extraordinary than anything I can imagine. May I rest knowing that You are the living water that quenches my thirst for meaning and purpose. Thank You, God, for the peace that comes from knowing that You are always with me. May Your love surround me like the waves of the sea, carrying me into a deep and restful sleep.
