Episode 147: Donnie TruVersation for 2026 Atlanta Jazz Festival

The 49th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival is one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, and features a diverse lineup of jazz, funk, and soul artists. This year ‪@AtlantaJazzFestival‬ welcomes Donnie who will be performing The Colored Section at Piedmont Park on Day 2, Sunday, May 24, 2026.  Donnie is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and storyteller based in Atlanta, Georgia. His debut LP, The Colored Section (Giant Step, 2001; re-released by Motown in 2002), was celebrated for its rich musicality and political consciousness, echoing the spirit of classic works like his cousin Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On? and Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life.
