Episode 149: Matt Johnston

Born in Sydney, Australia, and having lived in the United States for the past 12 years, Matt Johnston has had an international career as an entrepreneur and founder, creating and leading companies in verticals including service, manufacturing, distribution and direct to consumer. Johnston’s early career was in Security Risk Management and Investigation, working as a Security Consultant and other related roles. With a passion for furthering society through innovation and technology, Johnston currently works with founder-led companies and private and institutional investors to create value for all stakeholders through Venture Capital, Private Equity and other investment. His track record of excellence and his balance of business acumen, technology knowledge and finance experience, sees Johnston advising startups, securing startup finance, advising established companies on exit strategies, as well as executing for them on mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his core business activities, he works with a number of US based startup accelerators in vetting and selecting startup companies for investment and/or engagement in accelerator programs.
