The guest for this episode is Rony Seikaly, former NBA basketball superstar now electronic music producer. Seikaly, born in a war-torn Lebanon, was the 9th overall pick in the 1988 NBA draft by the then new expansion team Miami Heat. He would go on to have a basketball career spanning 12 years between the NBA and Barcelona. After his retirement from basketball, Seikaly became a successful real estate developer and eventually also add successfully electronic music producer and DJ to his vast resume. Seikaly has now DJ'd across the world and has an extensive discography of music and mixes (just check his Soundcloud). Recently, Seikaly had a new track "Groove It" a part of the Saved Records Collection G compilation. During our chat, we talked about his love for music since a very young age, about always having a backup plan when you are an athlete, reinventing yourself, the lessons learned throughout the phases of his life, his documentary upcoming on CloseUp360, growing up in the war torn country of Lebanon, his feelings when he was drafted into the NBA, how he learned the ropes in anything he did, his time in the NBA and how it differs from the game now, and how he's been able to mold his unique sound as an electronic music producer and DJ.
