Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 15:32 In God’s eyes, it’s never too late to come home. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: HUMILITY Check in on a friend today. Ask how you can pray for them. Today’s daily devotional focuses on the Prodigal Son, where Jesus illustrates God’s boundless forgiveness. The younger son wastes his inheritance but returns home, seeking forgiveness, and is warmly welcomed by his father. This story highlights God’s readiness to forgive and restore us when we repent. STORY Bible in a Year: The Prodigal Son Scripture It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. Luke 15:32 Have you ever felt so far gone that you doubted you could ever come back? In the parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus provides a beautiful illustration of God’s unwavering love and forgiveness. The story begins with a younger son who demands his inheritance, leaves home, and squanders his wealth on reckless living. When a severe famine hits, he finds himself destitute and alone, longing for the food that even the pigs eat. What does this teach us about the consequences of our choices? The young man’s journey into the depths of despair is a powerful reminder of how our decisions can lead us away from God and into hardship. Have you ever experienced a moment when you felt the weight of your choices pulling you down? In his desperation, the son decides to return to his father, not expecting to be welcomed back as a son, but hoping to be taken on as a servant. To his surprise, his father sees him from afar, runs to him, embraces him, and celebrates his return with a feast. This act of grace and forgiveness reveals the heart of God towards us. How do you think you would react if you were in the father's place? Jesus’ parable teaches us that no matter how far we’ve strayed, God’s love remains steadfast. He waits eagerly for our return, ready to forgive and restore us. Are there areas in your life where you need to experience this kind of forgiveness and restoration? Today, let’s reflect on the depth of God’s love and consider how we can extend that same grace to others. REFLECTION Reflect on your life and identify areas where you might feel lost or far from God. Understand that no matter how far you have strayed, God’s love is always reaching out to you, ready to forgive and welcome you back. Take a moment to confess and turn back to God, trusting in His boundless mercy. PRAYER It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. LUKE 15:32 Lord, Your grace and Your forgiveness never ceases to amaze me and no other story displays this more than the one that You shared about the prodigal son in Matthew 18:12–14. Through the reading of this text I am mesmerized by how even with the foolish decisions that were made, the Father never left his position of searching. May this bring comfort to my soul in knowing that no matter what mistakes I make that You are always searching for me. When I feel that I have blown and squandered my inheritance I praise You because You have more in store for me as I come to You with a humble and broken heart. When others seek to keep me in the pig pen of life, I praise You that You will clothe me with honor, You’ll restore power back to me through Your ring of authority, and You will seat me at the table of greatness again. All that You have is mine so I will make sure not to be jealous when I see others get restored back to their place of opulence and abundance, because what is Yours Father is also mine, because I too am a child of God. I was lost but through Your love Jesus I am found! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.Repent and Get Baptized
