The 2017 Daytona 500 represented a new chapter in NASCAR racing, and Kurt Busch helped Monster Energy make a splash in its first weekend as the title sponsor of the Cup Series. A number of wrecks took out the usual restrictor-plate race front-runners and left some younger drivers with an opportunity to etch their name in Daytona history. However, Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson both ran out of fuel as they lead the race with only a few laps remaining.
