Episode 15 - Mystery Revealed

William Phelps taught English literature at Yale for 41 years until his retirement in 1933. While proofing an examination paper, he came across this note: “God only knows the answer to this question.” Phelps returned the paper with this note, “God gets an A, you get an F”There may be things you struggle to understand, but God has worked throughout human history to reveal Himself to us. 1 Timothy says, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into Glory.”Although it seemed a mystery as to how God would offer forgiveness of sins in the Old Testament, Christ’s coming revealed the mystery of forgiveness of sins and hope for man.
