Prof Lucy Chappell is NIHR Research Professor in Obstetrics at King's College London and Honorary Consultant Obstetrician at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019 she was responsible for the development of a new diagnostic test for pre-eclampsia which is now part of routine clinical practice. Prof Chappell was also recently appointed as a new Government Chief Scientific Advisor (CSA) where she will be responsible for the delivery of £1.3 billion research budget.
