Episode 152: Broken and Leading: When, how and who to be vulnerable with along the way with Toni Collier
from Living Wholehearted Podcast With Jeff and Terra · host Terra & Jeff Mattson - Living Wholehearted
This is one of co-host, Jeff Mattson’s favorite interviews! The Mattsons want everyone to meet Toni Collier, a hope coach (don’t you just love that term?!) and founder of Broken Crayons Still Color, an international women’s ministry to help women process their brokenness and reclaim hope. Toni is full of passion and she talks about the moment she realized that God is in the business of using broken people. And yet, leading from a place of brokenness is not where He leaves us or wants us to stay. God invites us to do the hard work our healing journeys require, so we don’t leak their pain and unhealth in funky ways. We all know we don’t need more leaders in the world who are ignorant of their pain and propagate unhealthy systems. Toni shares why counseling is so important, about the differences between healthy and spiritually abusive churches, red flags for toxic communities, and when you know it’s the right time to share your pain publicly and when it’s only appropriate for your closest friends. Toni Collier is a popular speaker and consultant who helps organizations with creative marketing, leadership, student ministry, and strategic planning. She’s also the author of, Brave Enough to Be Broken: How to Embrace Your Pain and Discover Hope and Healing (Nelson Books, Nov 2022). It’s her passion to show women that they can be both broken and beautiful as they work out their healing at the feet of Jesus. Toni teaches regularly at Story Church Atlanta, founded by her husband, Sam Collier. Toni and Sam live in Atlanta with their daughter, Dylan, and new baby boy, Sam Jr. To connect with Toni Collier, visit: https://www.tonijcollier.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/colliertoni Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tonijcollier/ Brave Enough to Be Broken: How to Embrace Your Pain and Discover Hope and Healing (Nelson Books, Nov 2022) https://www.tonijcollier.com/booksanddevos To connect with Jeff and Terra Mattson and Living Wholehearted, go to: Instagram @TerraMattson @Living_Wholehearted @MyCourageousGirls #living_wholeheartedpodcast #shrinkingtheintegritygap Facebook @MyCourageousGirls @WeAreLivingWholehearted Websites LivingWholehearted.com TerraMattson.com MyCourageousGirls.com MyCourageousBook.com Resources Shrinking the Integrity Gap https://davidccook.org/shrinking-integrity-gap-book/ Shrinking the Integrity Gap e-Course https://www.livingwholeheartedstore.com/e-courses Courageous: Being Daughters Rooted in Grace https://mycourageousgirls.com/shop/p/book-courageous-being-daughters-rooted-in-grace Dear Mattsons https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdPzQ_cUwCbRc-MQ40KL3a6ze06CiY38l Helping Moms Raise Confident Daughters http://cpguides.org/ Want to learn more about becoming a healthy and whole leader?
