Episode 157 - The Social Network (1:24:46)
from Actual Anarchy Podcast - AnCap Movie Reviews from a Rothbardian Perspective · host Actual Anarchy
Last week was our Thanksgiving episode where we celebrated the spirit of giving. This week, we're going to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship by discussing "The Social Network" with an entrepreneur. This is a fun discussion talking about something that has since become ubiquitous to so many in their daily lives, Facebook. Our guest is Miguel Duque, a business coach with MAPS Business Coaching (mymapscoach.com), offering weekly 1-on-1 coaching for business owners and entrepreneurs across all industries, and he created a free online community called Amagi Entrepreneurs. We have a great discussion centering on IP, tact in business, and the role of the entrepreneur. Join us next week as we bring back our Batman guy, Shaheen from Australia, to talk about "The Killing Joke" which was part of the source material for the hit-movie "Joker" that we covered a few weeks ago with another guest as Shaheen had fallen ill. We'll get his take on that movie during this one, so it'll be a bit of a twofer. Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/157 Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter. We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film. The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film. We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests. SUBSCRIBE, RATE AND REVIEW ON APPLE PODCASTS (or iTUNES)
