Episode 158 - Young Frankenstein *Listener's Choice*

from In The Queue - Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil · host Andrew and Phil

Frankenstein was never this funny.  That's because those movies weren't comedies.  In the hands of Mel Brooks however, the classic horror tale becomes a hilarious laugh-fest. Gene Wilder is Frederick Frankenstein, grandfather to the notorious re-animator, who recently bequeathed Frederick with his castle in sunny Transylvania.  While Freddie initially disavows any interest in creating a monster from dead people parts, he quickly catches the bug and decides he will carry out his grandfather's work.  The cast is madcap, the comedy is brilliant and the cameo by Gene Hackman is one for the vaults. New guest Kathleen requested this film for In the Queue, and Andrew and Phil are happy to entertain her suggestion.   You can download the podcast here by right-clicking on the hypertext link and choosing "save as", or you can use the convenient player attached to this post.
