Here with your hosts, Earl Roberts, and Nikaz Ge. As a young person, Christianity can be so foggy, like spoken of mirrors and so unclear. But we're here to bring you a breath of fresh air. The king of Assyria said, what?
Oh, oh. Let's go to the house of the Lord. I like him. Shebna, and all the elders and the priests.
Just as I am in Sakhloth, I want each and every one of you in Sakhloth, and go to the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amos, and say to him, this is the day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy. For the children are come to birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth. It may be the Lord that God will hear all the words of Rapture Gay, whom the king of Assyria, his master, sent to approach the living God, and may be God will reprove the words which he had heard. So lift up the prayer, Isaiah.
Lift up a prayer to the Lord, for the remnant who I left. Step into the heart of a kingdom under siege in 2 Kings 19. In this gripping chapter, the faithful king has a coyote faces an existential threat, and turns to the prophet Isaiah, with divine guidance. Join us as we unravel the tale of unwavering fate, miraculous intervention, and a timeless message of hope against all odds.

Just getting back from traveling. We're in travelers. Yeah, for those who don't know, I just came back from the United Arab Emirates to buy and I'm going to eat, spend most of the time in Dubai though. But I'm still getting used to just the sleep potter and trying to get back to it.
Honestly, I got a little bit of a cool, I think, just from traveling in and out, in and out of air condition and heat, back and forth. My buddy thought I was under attack. If he was my buddy, but honestly, it's pretty good. It was really eye-opening, man.
I feel like when you read the Bible, I remember reading the Bible as a kid and you would go to them. You know, sometimes you look in the pocket of a book and they used to have these mops. But it didn't look like mops that we were accustomed to seeing because it was kind of like, it kind of showed the desert, the way the color, the way the colors were set up. It was kind of showing what is the desert, what was kind of Greenland, but what was like Greenland, not Greenland, the country.
But when you look at a mop, everything is just green. Like the whole country is usually green. And so, as a kid, I used to look at these mops and I used to be like, we're like, we're type of, I didn't really put together that these places were still here today. Like I used to think like, this was some sort part of the world that we don't use or we don't go to anymore.
But obviously, you know, you get old and you kind of put things together and you realize, oh, this place still exists. It's just, it's not called that anymore. You know, this region is still like minimum. Like, you know, that the city minimum is in here anymore, but the region is still there, you know, Saudi Arabia, you know, a place in Saudi Arabia.
And even going to the Middle East, it was, it kind of helped me look at the Bible a little bit differently because you go to these places and you see, you know, Dubai is a new city, right? But the region, you see very old, like architecture and stuff and it kind of, and I actually went to the desert first time ever going to a desert and it kind of helped me know, you know, give me a little bit of context of what the people of the Bible, their weather was like, you know, the conditions they traveled and of course, we have like probably global warming. So it might be a little more hard now compared to that. But, you know, it kind of was very eye opening to me, you know, seeing this, this part of the world, you know, seeing the type of people here and kind of understanding the type of people that live care centuries ago.
So even for context, the Syrian Empire, like all this is in the same region, you know what I'm saying? Like the people we read about today and in all that since the day, it's like in the same region. So just going down, you know, it was beautiful, you know, life changing someone's say, my mom and that couple of years ago, and she was just blown away. So I had, I had kind of an introduction to it already.
So something that I experienced, I had already learned about, but man, it felt good. It felt good. I definitely like experiencing it in person, though. Yeah, I agree.
I don't know. I like it. What's up? What's up?
Pledge it back safely, both you and your wife. Yeah. So that's a blessing. Yeah, man, it's good.
Yeah, stop. We got to go to the city. So what's it called? I don't know.
What trip? Yeah, like with the whole alarm. That's what they call it. I was trying to think of it.
Not the whole experience? No, not that. Fortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, it does not exist anymore. We've got to have a hospital.
Boy, I tell you, I tell you. Oh, man, I just might like just that. I guess we'll just want to get in the game. All right.
So I actually forgot for this week. And it's actually been something like me, one of my friends was talking. Actually, a couple of friends. I guess it's been like a thing, interesting.
Anyway, the girls, but essentially saying that like in life, and the doctor was like, he don't know like why he way out right now. Right? Because like he sometimes thinks don't work the way you plan it to. And you find yourself in a situation or a place where you didn't expect yourself to be in.
And as we talked, I was like, hey, man, like, I wouldn't be able to be discouraged. You're like, you're in this place, but things are still working out. And I say, in life, God is a funny way of doing things sometimes. And that's like an all perspective, right?
I said, like God doesn't place you where you want to be. Most times he plays you where you need to be. And if you're at some place and you still see things working out in your favor, you need to figure out essentially like, why God has you where you are? Because it's something you need to learn, something you need to go through, something you need to experience.
And don't be discouraged because things are going to go the way you wanted it to go. You know what I'm saying? So yeah, man, it caused me to start reflecting on my life. I'm like, yo, I never really expected to go to Walla Walla University, right?
I never really expected to come to Orlando for work. You know what I'm saying? But God, his wisdom knew why I had to go to Walla Walla. He knew why ended up in Florida for work.
You know what I'm saying? Like he knew why he needed to be certain places and experience certain things in life. And it was all a part of my journey of growth. Now, I got to think, my way, who knows what about who knows what might have happened?
You know what I'm saying? Who knows what path I might have been on? You know what I'm saying? Like me and you never expected to be roommates before.
And if we never were roommates, we wouldn't be able to have this podcast. You know what I'm saying? We would not be a hundred and fifty-nine episodes in right now. You know what I'm saying?
But like God knew that for some reason, both of us would end up in Florida for work. Both of us would end up being roommates and by some divine revelation we would end up starting a podcast about like religion, Bible, Christianity. You know what I'm saying? And that's something he and his wisdom is like the world needed.
You know what I'm saying? And so you never know exactly why certain things happen. And but when you look back at it, you're like, it only could be God. Definitely.
Definitely when you go on man. Yeah man. Yeah. Pretty interesting.
Pretty interesting stuff, bro. I don't remember. Sometimes I, you know, sometimes we get really in deep thought wondering where you are or what the future is for you. You know what I'm saying?
But I just feel like, I'm not trying to be cliché right now, but I just feel like our main focus is really kind of understanding how can we get closer to God and understand when he speaks to us and when he's telling us to actually do something or actually move. Sometimes when things don't go my way, it's like a light bulb pops up in my head reminding me that reminding me how disconnected I was from God when I was making the decisions that I was actually making. And sometimes I regret it. I mean, you know, you should regret it, but sometimes I really regret it because I'm like, man, if I had been walking next to God at this time, I would have heard him tell me to do this or not to do this.
I would have read the signs a little bit more differently. You know what I'm saying? And I don't know. I just feel like the past couple of months, I just kind of been on autopilot, too.
You know, just going through the motions doing things because I feel like I should do it and I got to be better off. Even if I got to read a text one verse today, I'll be better off doing that than not reading it because I don't want to do it. And I laugh because this week I woke up and I was late. We had to go.
Yeah, like a tour or something. And it was very early. We had to get up. And I didn't have time to read.
I just had to get up and go because I went on a Wi-Fi throughout the day. And at the end of the day, when I was connected to Wi-Fi, I was still out. And I saw a notification to say, hey, you can still do it. You can still read.
So that you don't break your street. And I opened my app and closed it because I know the street would continue. I did not read. It doesn't count.
But on paper, it does. But that just goes to show. That just reminds me of how sometimes with anything that's constructed, going to the gym, or something, you just really do not want to do it, bro. You just do not want to.
You tie it. But you know that not going is going to hurt me more than actually going. It's like going and not having fun, going and pushing myself to this thing. It's not going to be easy, but it's going to be harder, not going because I'm going to be one step away from my actual goal.
My turn. I don't know. Just kind of remind me now. Yeah.
It's like when you do something just for doing it sick, when you do something for the intentionality of it. Yeah. And I mean, that's a lot of questions. I mean, that's how we treat God, unfortunately.
And I mean, I've been there. One more time, so that we're going to have to say it way more times. But like, you start treating God as an autopilot friend. You know what I'm saying?
Like, hey, God, I know you're there. But I don't really have time right now to have a conversation. So I'm going to get back to you later. Let me treat God.
Let me treat our friends. I can treat God even worse than that. But it's like we just get caught up with the daily light and the daily grind. And we'll be having the one on right there in the moment that we say, oh, yeah, I could read right now.
But if I read right now, it's going to be this, oh, I should get up and pray and I should get up and do my devotion. And man, if I do that, this traffic is going to be on the late for work. I'm just take up, you know, something I get cut. Unfortunately, the something most times is God.
And I mean, we all could be better with that. We all could be more intentional about it. We all could actually force that relationship with God. I mean, like, and that's the end of the day.
That's what it is. Like, how can you perform a relationship if you don't make time for it? How can you actually want to decipher his will, hear his voice if you don't make time for it? You know what I'm saying?
You ask for different things, but you never wait to hear the answer. And that's not the big thing. I'm guilty. Like, I want this all like, make this happen.
And, you know, we'll really spend the time in his word or praying and, you know, meditating or like dwelling on his ungodly things, even give God a chance to respond to you. You know what I'm saying? Like, man, it's time to pray. It's lunch.
You buy yourself. Man, the school come up to my mouth. I'm praying because I know I need to pray for my food. But I didn't really thank God for this food.
We just being honest. I'm just doing something to check the box and be like, okay, I did it. Right? But there was no intentionality behind it.
There was no thought behind it. It was like the autopilot prayer. And think about it. Think about it during the receiving end of that, right?
Thank God God. Thank goodness God is not human. The treat is like how we treat him. It's something like, do we really thank God right now?
I'm just more happy to get you got this gift. You know what I'm saying? You're like, this food and I can poison you for real. I can't believe I'm blessing this food.
Yeah. Why? That's a lot of emotions. Yeah.
And again, I'm more than guilty of this. Like, again, like, I probably like two to three times a day. And two to three times a day. Those prayers are probably those like super rushed prayers.
You know what I'm saying? And, you know, when it clicks on me, I try to be more intense. I try to do like a, like, slightly more, like, honest prayer. A lot of food.
But it's just like small things like that, like we think are insignificant. But that's truly part of our relationship with God and how we treat God. Like, the person who actually provided the ministry to actually eat this food right now, you're just not even really thankful. Because all the time, you're like, oh, yeah, I just spent my money on this food.
Or I bought the groceries. I spent the time cooking it like this is food that I made. Like, why am I blessing the hands to prepare the food? It's my hands.
You should be blessing. You should be a blessing. When you think about it. Like, if any person should want to be blessed as you.
What? Oh man. All right. So in this episode, we are in Second Kings 19.
Yeah. Right. It's been a while since we recorded. Last week was Hezekiah.
Yeah. He was a righteous man. But when stuff hit the fund, he had to pay in our price. When it's an acronym that put the pressure on it.
He had to pay in the bill. I was actually reading in the return of Sonakira. They were talking about just the military conquest between Assyrians and the tension that arose with them and the Indians, basically the Babylonians. And they were saying how Egypt broke.
It was so crazy, bro. And this is only a summary. They were saying how the Assyrians were backed by Egypt and they attack a bunch of cities including Israel, but they didn't fully destroy Israel because Israel paid. I have the fee.
You know what I'm saying? For them to stop. And we can see that in Second Kings 18. But the reason why I'm really talking about Egypt specifically is because I don't know if you remember it in the speech.
Yeah. Yeah. They're so fickle. Like it's like, oh man.
I can't remember the exact words, but he said something like he would try to lean on Egypt and I was like. Yeah. I'm like, yo. Let's see.
Where's 24? It says, okay. When you repel one captain of the least of my master servants, I put your trust in Egypt for chariots and horsemen. All right.
Now I'll come up without the Lord against. I think we want to go. Yeah. Yeah.
There's some before that. Now, look, you are trusting the staff of this broken read Egypt on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and there's it. So it's Pharaoh King of Egypt to all who trusted him. So it's like, you can see this Pharaoh was probably a snake.
You know what I mean? Yeah. Oh, that is crazy. That is crazy.
And we go. We go back both sides. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I mean, a good book or a gala.
Yeah. All right. And the Syrians do that. They know Judah had the support of Egypt because they also had the support of Egypt.
So it was kind of like two against one. Like it was kind of like Egypt saying, yeah, you know, we are back here. You know, I guess what I back is real too. I back to the two.
So I know you're probably going to be there. You say I'm saying, but just so it ain't no confusion. I back and forth. Yeah.
That's crazy. And so yeah, last week. So basically just as a synopsis, the Syrians, they announced wall against the people of Judah. And they also sent messages to Hezekiah saying, you know, this is what our king says.
You're not going to beat us. That's a fuck. We beat everyone. We, um, everybody who claim they have faith and they go out, we beat them.
You know what I'm saying? So do not have faith in your God. Do not have faith in Hezekiah. Hezekiah tells you that you're going to win.
Do not have faith in that. You know what I'm saying? And actually, you know, Hezekiah, it's a little kind of great to me, but I believe that they announced this and they had a little bit of some bottles that happened. And Hezekiah and Judah, they lost tremendously.
And he came to the point where Hezekiah actually did oblige and pays it after him for their peace and their freedom. And now that leads us to this chapter. So they just, they, their pride is now that their pockets wounded and their city had been attacked. You know, so that's what leads us to this chapter.
So reading from 2nd, 2nd, verse 1. And so it was when King Hezekiah heard it that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth. I went to the house of the Lord. Then he sent a lyacam who was over the household.
Shebna described and the others, and the others of the priests, covered in sackcloth to Aesiah, the prophet, son of Amos. And they said to him, thus says Hezekiah, the day, this day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth. Nicely. It may be that the Lord your God will hear all of the words of the rapsaketh, whom his master, the king of Assyria has sent to approach the living God.
I will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard, therefore lift up your prayer from the remnant that is left. So the service of King Hezekiah came to Aesiah and they said to him, thus you shall say to your master, thus says the Lord. And as I said to them, thus you shall say to your master, thus says the Lord. Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Surely I will send a spirit upon him. And he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land, and I will cause him to fall by the sword of his own land. Mercy. Then rapsaketh returned and found the king of Assyria warning against Livna, for he had heard that he had departed to Brumlakish.
And the king heard concerning Tark, Tearakah, King of Ethiopia. Look, he has come out to make war with you. So he against it, just the Hezekiah saying, thus you shall speak to King Hezekiah, King of Judah, saying, do not let your God in whom you trust the same, you say, do not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria. Look, you have heard the things you have heard, but the king of Assyria has done to all the lands, utterly destroying them.
And shall it be delivered, cut the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, goes on, and haran, and resip it, and resip. And the people of Eden who were in Talisar, where is the king of Hamah, the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sharavim, Hana, and Ivar. And Hezekiah received the letter from the land of the messengers and read it. And hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, oh, Lord God of Israel, the one who dwells between the cherubim, you are God. You are alone of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Encline your heir, O Lord, and hear.
Open your eyes, O Lord, and see. And hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God. Truly the Lord, truly Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste to the nations and their lands. And have cast their gods into the fire, but they were not gods, but the work of man's hands would ensign mercy.
Therefore, are they destroyed them? Now therefore, O Lord, our God, I pray, save us from His hand. Then all the kings of the earth may know that you are Lord God, you are alone. That's a lot.
All right. That's an earnest prayer. Going back to previous thought and telling you, like, that's a super earnest prayer. Now, you know, I'm coming to the rest.
But it's a super earnest prayer, super thoughtful prayer and saying, Lord, I know you are God alone. We have this guy here. Last week, man, you got it. Yeah, I know he killed a lot of people and throw their gods and they're fine, but they weren't gods.
Lord, we all know they just made a burden soon, so they thought it could be destroyed, but you can't be destroyed. And you can't let us see how people get taken up like this. And you know, it was kind of interesting because just last chapter, they were saying, oh, how's the guy? It's not like any king.
He was like David. He was like David. He's like David. He's the first one like David.
He's the first one like David. And he's more David. That's all of it. He's really smart David.
David wants something. All right. They destroyed high places and stuff. So it's like, if you're right, just mine.
Right. And it was kind of like on a character because he chose to pay off the king. We didn't even pray in the God. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah. And so that money like he was an area because at the time, but now we see it coming into effect. We see his relationship to God, you know, in full display right now. It's not off that he was in distress.
He taught at school. He taught at school. He's covered himself in soccer. That's how the chapter starts.
And they went to go see Isaiah the prophet. You know, it's the same Isaiah that we, you know, that has a book later on in the Bible. Pretty lengthy book. Like 67 chapters.
And also that book he also prophesies of Jesus coming. You know what I'm saying? When the fire transgressions, you know, pretty cool. Excuse me.
Pretty common. Cold from that book. And Isaiah tells him, bro. This is, they have trouble in my house.
You know what I'm saying? No, I'm sorry. They said that to him. But Isaiah says, bro, do not be afraid.
You know, because the Lord would send a spirit, you know, that gets him to the part. And now he has a kaya. He's praying to God even more. So even though he has a kaya, he had his, his faults.
You know what I'm saying? What's beautiful about this is that he's actually turning to God in the way that we expect. The kings of Israel, the kings of Judah, I'm sorry, to react. And so the battling the Assyrians is not uncommon.
This has been happening for multiple kings. It's been a lot of kings that have faced the Assyrians. But this has been happening since, um, um, what's the name? A.R.
King A.R. It was fighting the Assyrians. You know what I'm saying? This has continued to happen.
And it's not, it's not often that we see people petitioning God. We see A.R. a prophet came to A.R. saying, you know, this was going to say, but a lot of times people just take their, they just take their help.
You know, and it's been happening so long to the point where that's an actor. He have a pride to him. You know what I'm saying? He has this, this, this is God and this gusto.
And it seems, it's the point of blasphemement. But at the same time, in the last chapter, he was saying the Lord sent him. The Lord sent him. And he is victorious.
But at the same time, he still, he still does not acknowledge that the Lord gave him victory. He might, he, he, I can, as if the Lord suggested to go through this. And I do all the work, but he's not acknowledging that he is victorious because of the Lord. And like, sure, my prophesying that has I, I will be king.
He was also on a Syrian king. I, I shall prophesied all of the things that he would have done. If God could show you what you're going to do, you don't think God could stop you from doing it. You don't think God permitted you to do this?
You know, but we have this game just really, he's so, so proud of all of the victory, him and his forefathers of mine that he completely neglects any outside. Well, not I'd say any. He neglects any affiliation or any assistance or any, anything that Yahweh did for that, completely denies it. Yeah.
Yeah. And so now as a kind of, like you say, earn his prayer. He praying his heart out. He praying like his life depended.
You are caught. You are the Lord. You are the Lord. You know what I'm saying?
And, you know, that's what we expect for the leader, the spiritual leader. Well, I don't know. That's what we expect the leader of that country to, that's what we expect after any circumstance. Yeah.
And what gets me is like, we know, has a color made it to go eventually, but to your earlier point, they should have been what you did the first time. You know what I'm saying? And to me, it is begs the question. Like how many times that we, we only go to God when we're at like rock bottom, when there's literally no way else to turn versus when we could have gone to God when there were more options on the table.
You know what I'm saying? And it sucks that like a lot of times we wait till we're in dire straits to be the time when we actually just turn to God. When as, when if we had done this earlier, you know, I phrase that this is the wrong analogy, but it's like, we give God more to work with. Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah. We put him in a box. We give him walk in fines.
Yeah. And yeah, it's just because now, you know, more could have been done. You might have not even been in this predicament all till to begin with, but you didn't trust me at first. And now you're back really against the wall.
And now is the time to ask God what to mean. I'll be sort of a great, good and gracious God, you know, slow the anger, bounding in love. So God, that's God. Okay.
But God is good. You can turn any situation around to us. But how did it be that you go out to him earlier, you know, could have saved yourself somehow to compete? So in verse 20, you got something else?
Sorry. No. So verse 20. This is the word the Lord has spoken concerning him.
All right. Now we're getting this and stuck. So this is literally song like Isaiah, like you go to Isaiah, we'll be about to go through. This is like chapters of just stuff like this.
Yeah. So the Virgin, the daughter of Zion, has despised you, left you to scorn. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head behind your back. And now I have brought it to pass that you should be for crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins.
Therefore, their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. And they were as the grass, the field and the green herb as the grass on the housetops and green blighted before the screen. But I know you're dwelling place.
You're going out and you're coming in and you're rage against me. Because you're rage against me and your tumult have come up to my heirs. Therefore, I will put my hook in your nose and my bridal in your lips. And I will turn you back by which by the way, which you came.
This shall be assigned to you. You shall eat this year as such as it grows of itself. And in the second year, what springs up up from the same. Also the third year, you shall in also the third year, so and reap.
Plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. And the remnant who escapes of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant. And those who escape from own Zion, the seal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Therefore, thus say is the Lord concerning the king of Assyria. He shall not come into the city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor build a siege mount against it, by the way that he came. By the same shall he return. And he shall not come into the city, say is the Lord.
I will defend the city to save it for my own sake and for the sake of my servant, David's. So in order to poetry for my Zion, it's like I kind of got lost when he said this will be a sorry to you. You should eat this year as much as grows of itself. And in the second year, what springs from the sand.
Also in the third year, you have so and reap the fruit of them. And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant. And those who escape from our Zion, the seal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
I'm like, what is this sign? This is a sign to say, what is the album? Because in the context of the war right now, God is going to deal with this right now. He's going to deal with the king of Assyria right now.
He's saying this should be a sign. And this multiple years, like just three years worth of signs that you're going to see. You know, but like is this. It's something that happened when they actually invaded.
Okay. So it's crazy. Like we're reading it now. It's kind of like poetic.
But when they invaded, like I think the invasion prevented them from actually like reaping and sewing effectively. So it's happened like in like around 700 BC. So again, thousands of years ago. Right.
But when they invaded, they couldn't essentially mess with the agriculture of the area. Okay. And so like, and that's why I was like, yeah, this year y'all going to be now the second year kind of the third year. It ain't going to be as much something like that.
But like it kind of happened. It happened. I don't know if like a book on Bitcoin or like that actually like happened. Okay.
So that makes sense because it's one thing for you all to be saved right now. But you can still say that's just the coincidence thing come back. This means, this means this has been happening in King after King after King. You know, they just been a consistent enemy of both Israel and Judah for a long time.
For a very long time. Okay. That's right. That part just was confusing me because I'm like, let's say there's three years of prophecy, right?
That's three years of prophecy, right? That's going to happen. Not going to happen. Not going to happen.
But now in the fourth year, they said, oh, if that's that these things happen and you know for a fact that the Lord will hear you cry. It's like, all right. Cool. But they said he's going to happen.
And then it's like, now it's for the king of Syria. We can deal with him right now. I mean, so what the sign should be like, what's the sign like actually showing what it definitely makes sense that it was multiple things happening in their city at once, you know, and this sign is covering both of those things. There's also like a proxy of them too.
Well, remnant of Jerusalem shall like profound Jerusalem shall be a remnant because now you don't give them hope. Like, there's a series here to destroy y'all. So now I'm going to run it will be the leverage to show like God will preserve you guys. Like y'all ain't going to be utterly destroyed as the series would love to do you guys right now.
That's true. But that's why I was still like, hey, you ain't coming into the city. You ain't even shooting an arrow there, bro. I guess we're going to be coming to defend it.
You know, you ain't coming there with a shield. You want to talk in and you ain't going to be a saying to defend yourself. You ain't, nope. You ain't even going to count and say you're doing in siege the city.
Nothing is going to happen. Yeah. And that's, that's the type of, it's just, these the type of choppers I like from the prophecy that in your favor, because it's like during this era, like a lot of prophecies was like, bro, no, destruction is coming here. Destruction is coming here.
No, I'm glad we don't be mistaken. You know, but yeah, this one, this one of the ones where God is prophesying protection is coming. Yeah. And then also shows like, I'm like, Oh gosh, I'm like, you know, ask why I'm doing this.
I don't want this one. I'm sick. You know what I'm saying? I'm for David.
I'm for David. I keep the promise, but you know, it's not like it was for my own sake. I think there's so much times like we as Christians and I talk to myself for a minute, right? I guess I'll call it happen to like defend Christianity and defend God's glory and like become so defensive.
And then recently, like I said, hold on buddy, I could do about it all by myself. I could defend myself. You know what I'm saying? That's why they don't say like, I can do this all of my, I need you guys to be like, I can defend my own glory.
You know what I'm saying? Like God said, you know, you know, you, you know, come and disrespect me in front of my own people. Like all the conquest you do, you know, you know, like a university, but I larger than that. Now you come and try to talk me saying like your God ain't going to deliver you.
What about the other nations? You try to compare me with these other gods, like, oh, this is bleakly. Just, this is bleakly disrespectful. You run it out now.
You know what I'm saying? I got to. I need to calm you down. I need to humble you a little bit.
It seems a little bit. It seems a little bit, right? No, it seems a little bit like you aren't too much, but what I'm saying is that he said, I will defend the city to save it for my own sake and my servant gave it sake. Mm-hm.
But not for their sake. You see what I'm saying? Right. So that's clear.
It's clever. Y'all are getting. Y'all earned. Y'all earned this, you know.
And it gives a little context because I'm like, bro, when the righteous king in power, y'all about to end the city. At the same time, and y'all just finished ending the northern kingdom while a wicked king was in power. These people have to pay off now in all fairness. The north king of Israel is a few times they had to keep paying off their kings.
It probably came to the point where the payment wasn't enough because, no, it comes to the north king. They tried to decide on Egypt. And the Syrians are like, what? Don't think of them instead?
Oh, no, no, no, no. All right. I'm going to take it out. Egypt.
Egypt. They're sneaky. Wow. They just play in with Israel and Jerusalem.
For real. All right. So now, yeah, you know, it kind of makes you want to know how they end up in this particular member. Like, y'all never be able to write just king.
Just because it's the righteous king that don't mean the whole city is righteous, you know. But I would think that, you know, they got to say the prayers of the righteous. Right. And I would think that, but this king being righteous, that will hold some week in how his kingdom was going to happen.
Like you don't want to see the king, the person that's being faithful to God and all the bad things just happen to them. Whereas the opposite, you have super wicked kings who just was up and free ride. Like, Jerobo, man, really, yeah, I'm with too much war. I think I was out there with Jerobo.
Mind you, they had farming. They had farming. They had farming there. And that's fast.
But it's like, you know, we know why you're not the farmer, but even now we see why y'all are like one, why y'all are not being victorious against the Syrians. We destroy everybody. Everybody. But not the people that do it like, bro, are we everybody?
We God's chosen right now. We a holy nation quote unquote. So why are we getting the same face as everyone? And I went, God actually defending them.
He said, make no mistake. I am defending you all from my sake and for the sake of David. David was the righteous. And I promised him that his generations would be straight.
And so because of that, I am going to keep this promise. But it's not because of what y'all did. And also, I also don't desire to be classed with these other gods. They destroy these gods and show them in the fire.
First of all, yeah, I'm destroying me. But now y'all, I don't even, right now I don't even want to keep on losing the job, destroying me in any type of way. And so now I'm going to put an answer to everything that's happening with this, with this amount of room. So this was an island just now.
It's like my grandfather. I fell off. Oh, Mark. So now we get to verse 35.
And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out and killed in the camp of the Assyrians, 185,000. And when people arose early in the morning, they were, there were corpses all dead. Mercy. So it's an aquifer king of Assyria departed.
I went away, returned to Mermina. Peace. Well, that's strange. Yeah.
Yeah. But again, like so said, so done. So we see like prophecy was given, prophecy was fulfilled. Like y'all didn't come into the city.
You don't even going to be able to shoot an arrow at the city. Or release seas to the city. Or even bring a shield come before a shield. One night, 185,000 people just dead.
Don't do it. Don't do it. Bro, that's. Bro, that's a lot of people, bro.
Yeah. That's the sad number. See, boy, you didn't even say all right. Let's say it was 300,000, you know, more than half time.
Like maybe they're still enough. You know what I mean? No, they're like, bro. We out, bro.
Bro, that's like waking up and literally like two thirds of the population in our soul died. Yeah. That's insane. Yeah.
That's actually crazy. You know, it's like you can read these numbers. But you're like, oh, okay. We're stuck with the perspective.
Like that's just wild. And the king says, well, I'm out. Yeah. That probably is disheartening to the party.
I have more time, bro. I go on a play ball. I'm on the corner of my friend. He had a basketball.
I'm cool with this yard. But I go on a play ball. But I see the first or second play at a game where somebody must be missed or blocked the shot. And you know, when, you know, they're metal.
Them, I offense, we have back home days of like sharp top. Like it's like a triangular sharp top. The ball at that. The ball at that instantly got deflated.
It's the first play of the game. Like one of the early players in the game. I just take my boy and I walk home. Like, I come down to play and I'll follow my friends.
You know, what am I going to get? What am I going to get? What am I going to get? Like blow up?
I just say. Yeah. All right. My evening is over.
I might have been like five p.m. You know, we play on the street nights. Come on. You know what I mean?
You're outside. You playing for the rest of the day. That just, that just made me say anyway. I was like, oh, no.
Because they thought I was going to tell my mommy. And the person who hit the ball out when it was going to get in trouble or something. I was like, you know what I mean? I was like, it was an honest mistake.
It was an honest mistake. You know what I mean? And that just reminded me of that. You wake up and a bunch of your crew dead.
And they're gone. I mean, I don't know. I don't know. But it don't matter.
I don't know. But your heart is gone. And so he's gone. You go out there.
But the funny thing about it is, right? I know you may have mentioned this before. I don't know. It was on part of pre-par because we talked so much.
It's a good thing. But the historical that comes to show that there was a siege. And then they just left. Right?
It's an acronym. Actually have stolen or something. That's on display in the British Museum. That's a whole different story about, you know, Europeans taking out of people's culture.
But on the stone, he actually kind of like, things are personal something. They call it. Anyway, he actually kind of dictates his story. Right?
