Episode 16: Are We Facing Near-Term Human Extinction

from The Liberation Frequency Podcast · host Liberation Frequency Podcast

In this episode of Liberation Frequency, Jennifer Sodini interviews Dr. Guy McPherson (http://guymcpherson.com/) and Pauline Schneider (https://vimeo.com/paulineschneider). Dr. Guy McPherson is professor emeritus of natural resources and ecology & evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona, has been a Climate Change expert for over 30 years. He can see the direction we are heading, and it’s looking bleak. The last few years, he has gained more popularity as we’ve come to accept that this is no longer a scare tactic, but closer to fact. He openly discusses the possibility of civilization entering a near-term human extinction. Pauline Schneider is a filmmaker, edible forest gardener, and artist who became aware of Guy’s work, and teamed up with him to produce the documentary, “Going Dark”. Pauline felt the urgency of Guy’s work, and took matters into her own hands to devote herself and finance the project. She has also worked with Guy to create an outreach program and workshop, www.OnlyLoveRemains.org , to help others cope that are coming to these realizations. In this episode the three discuss the scientific facts of climate change, the options we have as a civilization, and how to make the best of now - although it seems we are facing imminent near-term human extinction. To learn more about Guy's work, visit his website at: guymcpherson.comTo watch "Going Dark", visit Pauline's Vimeo page at: https://vimeo.com/paulineschneider
