Episode 16: Peaceful Mealtimes for Mums

from Natural Super Kids Podcast · host Jessica Donovan

In today's episode, I'm excited to be talking to another amazing guest, Belinda Smith, who is the founder of The Root Cause. The Root Cause is all about starting conversations with children, parents, teachers about food and how it impacts our health, learning, waste and the environment. Belinda and her team work with families throughout Australia and they've seen first-hand what children eat at schools and how much of a difference that makes on a child's health behavior, academic results and attendance.  Being a mum, a wife, a health and wellness coach, Bel believes in empowerment through education. We talk about how to empower our kids to make better choices so we don't have to be constantly on their backs about the food they are eating. She also shares the following tips and insights in achieving peaceful mealtimes:What appears to be fussy eating to us, is actually quite normal behavior but we're up against our own expectations.Fostering independence and dividing the responsibility by helping kids understand food, and its effect on their bodiesCreating a safe and fun environment at the dinner table where kids are able to create "positive" stored memories, and so much more.Episode Links:Get Bel's e-book, 5 Ways to De-stress DinnerVisit The Root Cause website Read more info on the Division of ResponsibilityThis episode is proudly sponsored by my membership, the Natural Super Kids Klub.
