Meredith Elliot is a teacher and poet from East Ham London and the creator and host of open mic event Speak Easy London. She always wanted to write as a child, but her family guided her towards a 'proper' job. Still following her passions for words, she ended up running a newspaper in University and then becoming a journalist. She took the pandemic as an opportunity to reconnect with writing and discover poetry. To Meredith, we are all equal in the eyes of Poetry and she encourages collaboration rather than competition for upcoming poets and spoken word artists. Hear hear!
