This week brought the news that Fede Alavarez would be helming the latest installment. Alvarez has seen his fortunes changes since a strong debut. Is this too combustible of a combination? We also talk about Steven Segal's involvement in the Russian-Ukraine conflict.Our second film for Irish Horror Movies month is 2007's Shrooms. The movie is about a group of college friends who head to Ireland to trip out on mushrooms. Before long, they running for their lives. The film answers a question we posed last week about how much a director has to do when the setting is naturally beautiful. It also reminds audiences of the timelessness of the 1990s and how great the name 'Bluto' is.South by Southwest is back and we begin with one of the most anticipated horror movies coming to the fest. Deadstream is a fun homage to Evil Dead, 80s B horror, and found footage. Is the lead charismatic or cringey?
