Episode 165 - Babylon (w/Nathaniel Ahart) (Season 4 Finale Part 1)

from Talkin' TV

Happy post holidays everyone! Only 2 days left of 2022, and since our recording schedule this holiday season has been a bit rocky, I'm doing something a little different this year. We will be doing a two part Season 4 finale, which is ironic because our midseason finale back in June also featured this guest for half and then Chris for the second part. We're releasing Babylon today with Nathaniel, and then Glass Onion which will feature Chris will be available tomorrow across all platforms. So exciting! But first, Babylon! What a movie! 4 years since his last film, "First Man" was released, Damien Chazelle, the first member of the new film brats and the heir apparent to Scorsese, PTA & Robert Altman returns with "Babylon" a film that is one part homage to old Hollywood and all insanity. The film features an all star cast including the likes of Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo & Jean Smart and takes place in Hollywood circa late 1920's-1930's right as sound is being introduced to film and the ripple effects it had on the industry and its members as they try to navigate what their role will be in the new hierarchy of things. Nathaniel joins Dom to break down the latest film from one of their favorite filmmakers, everything that works, everything that doesn't and what, if anything, people can take away from yet ANOTHER movie that Hollywood made about itself. New episodes of the #talkintvpodcast are released every Monday on Spotify & Apple Podcasts.
