The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL) picked Blockchain.com as the team’s first crypto-related sponsorship. Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones made the announcement at a press conference Wednesday. The deal comes at a time when the NFL is beginning to ease up on how teams get involved with the crypto industry. Amazon (AMZN) CEO Andy Jassy said on CNBC Thursday morning that the e-commerce and cloud-computing giant is likely not close to adding cryptocurrency as a payment mechanism for its retail business, but it’s possible it will sell NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in the future. Andy Jassy also predicted that cryptocurrencies will continue to become bigger over time, but noted that he doesn’t own any bitcoin personally. Cyprus-based Sand Vegas Casino Club, not to be confused with Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands (LVS), has been ordered by securities regulators in two U.S. states to stop selling non-fungible tokens that promise a cut of profits from casinos on metaverse platforms.
