🌽 Episode 169: CORNFIELDS ARE TERRIFYING 🌽
from FriGay the 13th Horror Podcast Hosted by FriGay the 13th
This week, Matty & Andrew wander into the rows (against Matty's better judgement — he grew up in Northwest Indiana, he KNOWS what corn does at night). We get into the very real phenomenon of "corn sweat" making Midwest summers miserable, why mature cornfields are scientifically designed to make you walk in circles (one family got lost in a maze just 25 feet from the exit!), the chilling reality of crimes hidden in ordinary Midwestern fields, and the nightmare of grain-bin entrapment — drowning on dry land. Plus: what a warming planet means for the world's biggest crop. And then we watched some movies. 🍿🎃 🎬 CHILDREN OF THE CORN III: URBAN HARVEST — He Who Walks Behind the Rows moves to Chicago. Campy, silly, and it sings in its stupidness. Bonus points for spotting an uncredited Charlize Theron. 🎬 DARK HARVEST — Halloween night, 1963. Sawtooth Jack is loose until midnight. Bold, original, oddly touching — the perfect way to kick off spooky season. Plus: Horror in Real Life, Whatcha Been Watchin' Bitch, and a closing game of CORN OR… PORN? (You'll never look at a cob the same way.) 💛 Huge welcome to our newest Patron, LeevsFilm! 🎧 Listen now wherever you get your podcasts! 💸 Support the show: frigay13.com/support ⭐ Leave a review — and tell a friend! #FriGay13 #CornfieldsAreTerrifying #horrorpodcast #lgbtqpodcast #queerpodcast #horrorcommunity #getslayed #horrorpodcasts #queerhorror #gayhorror #ChildrenOfTheCorn #DarkHarvest #folkhorror #StephenKing #spookyseason #halloween
