Episode 17 - Bad Beats, Downswings and Bounty Strategy

In episode 17, MTT Coach Gareth James and Mental Game Trainer Dr. Tricia Cardner open the show by discussing the crazy weather we’ve been having here in Texas. They then move on to the questions. Gareth’s question centered around the proper adjustments for bounty MTTs with an emphasis on progressive bounty structures. Specifically, he explained how the bounty changes the pot odds which then leads to changes in push-fold. Typically, we should be calling shoves much wider than normal because we are getting an amazing price.This episode also features Tricia answering a question about how to deal with the bad beats and downswings that come with poker. She explains how having the right expectations can set you up for a smoother ride on the poker journey. The reality is that bad things happen at the poker table and when we recognize this and accept it, we will experience less stress and strife.
