Episode #17: Quit Blaming Yourself

Stop blaming yourself.  Perfection is NOT obtainable - no matter how much parents, administrators, and the school system itself try to demand it.   Effective teachers don't try to be perfect.  Here are a couple of truths talked about in this episode:  1.  Few (if any) lessons will reach all learners.  2.  A student's academic progress is rarely one person's fault.  3.  Observation tools used to measure teachers are usually ineffective and often ridiculous (so don't live and die by the provided feedback).  4.  Don't reinvent the wheel for students that don't want to engage in the learning process and/or are not held accountable by parents.   5.  There is not enough time in the day for teachers to get everything done, so don't make that the goal (instead, prioritize things and do the best you can).
