Episode 171 - Steve Jobs

from In The Queue - Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil · host Andrew and Phil

Hello.  The character of Steve Jobs is explored in three acts in the new biopic by Danny Boyle.  Thief?  Genius?  Psychopath?  Call Jobs what you will, his story is newsworthy. This backstage drama written by Aaron Sorkin has a formidable cast and a talented director...but still Phil couldn't shake the feeling that Michael Fassbender was miscast as the iconic Apple spokesman. The film also had a serious case of "Birdman" envy, and too much cinematic importance was placed on Jobs' illegitimate daughter, instead of his accomplishments.  These are Phil's criticisms, Andrew loved  'Steve Jobs'.  What's your opinion?
