His childhood was marked by family instability, frequent moves, and emotional neglect. He showed early signs of withdrawal, fascination with dead animals, and difficulty forming relationships. His parents’ volatile marriage ended in divorce shortly after he graduated high school.In 1978, at age 18, Dahmer committed his first murder, killing Steven Hicks shortly after Hicks picked him up while hitchhiking. Dahmer dismembered the body and scattered the remains, then went undetected. In the years that followed, he drifted through college, the Army, and low-level jobs, struggling with severe alcoholism and repeated failures. He was discharged from the Army in 1981 and later convicted of indecent exposure in 1982.By the mid-1980s, Dahmer was living in Milwaukee, drinking heavily, and working nights at the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory. His sexual fantasies increasingly centered on control and unconscious partners. On November 20, 1987, after nearly a decade without killing, Dahmer murdered Steven Tuomi in a Milwaukee hotel room—an act that marked the beginning of his sustained killing spree, though it was not yet known to authorities.Support the showThanks for all the support!!
