It’s often said that we live in a world that tells us to put ourselves first.Protect your interests.Pursue your goals.Look out for your own happiness.While there is wisdom in caring for the responsibilities God has given us, the Gospel calls us to something much greater.A life that is no longer centered on ourselves.As Paul continues speaking about Timothy, he contrasts him with many others around him.Not because they lacked ability.But because their priorities had become misplaced.Their focus had shifted away from Christ.And Paul’s words invite us to examine the direction of our own hearts.
