Episode 174 Travis M's Story - Welcome Home

from Spiritual Underground Podcast · host Dan Reeves

Thank YOU Travis for coming in on your ONE YEAR DATE, yep, DAY 365 - Congratulations!! To watch this man from early on, watch that "Hope this shit works, but don't think it will" attitude, desperately struggling for relief while still unconsciously maintaining the wall that separates the "dis-ease" from "recovery".... because we think this can't be real, we think that this can't happen for us... To watch him turn the seemingly slow corner as is customary on this 12 Step path, then to see the momentum gather speed as a tether ball getting shorter on it's rope, to watch that man blossom and bloom, eyes clear and focused, head up, shoulders back, and get free, get really free man, and I mean really truly free, to witness that, THAT... is what I live for today, and that is Travis. His passionate vulnerability, his "all-in" devotion, "every-chip-to-the-center-of-the-table" gamble, "this better F'ing work this time" determination... Now that he has a piece of it, he damn sure ain't letting it go, nope, he reaches for more - That kind of dedication to one's recovery produces a person that the world can count on, and that is Travis. What a gift he's been to the SU, what a gift he's been to me personally, what a gift he is to the world. I struggle to attempt to compress Travis into a "show note", so just listen, listen and know that if you feel that recovery is not possible for you, or maybe you feel that you are not getting the most from your life in recovery, then maybe it's time to put on your battle uniform, push all of your chips to the middle of the table, and do this thing with all of your heart, give it your all... You are worth it, you are... Welcome Home Travis Enjoy!!!
