Episode 178 - Samhain Chats

from Candlelit Tales Irish Mythology Podcast · host Candlelit Tales

Welcome back to the Candlelit Tales Podcast, and back to this Series of Samhain Stories. It is the time for spooky folk tales, and we are telling a few new ones that we have not told before. ‘Tis the season for spooky folktales, and in this series, we will tell you more of our favourites. Strange things happen across this land around this time of year, and oftentimes they make great stories as a result. This episode is a look forward to what we will be covering over the next few episodes and where we found the stories. Because we are quite busy with the Púca Festival again this year, the festival that celebrates Halloween as an Irish holiday wants to give you a few insights into who and what the Púca was. Púca quite simply means ghost or spirit in Irish, and there are definitely a few story variations to what exactly the Púca was. So we will chat about that, and the other two stories we decided to share with you at this time of year. The origin of the Vampire story and the tale of the Black cat. We also chat about what’s coming up for us in love shows and we will be sharing more info about what we’re doing on our social media channels. If you have any questions, do get in touch.
