The forerunner in the Oscars race is here.  'Spotlight' is a meticulous account of how Boston Globe journalists pieced together a devastating expose of the clergy sex-abuse scandal that ignited a worldwide inquiry into the Catholic Church.  Powered by an impeccable ensemble cast, a taut, emotional screenplay and assured direction, Tom McCarthy's film never hits a false or melodramatic note.  This is a film about intelligent adults, best enjoyed by other intelligent adults who are sick of superhero nonsense. Andrew and Phil are unanimous in their praise for 'Spotlight'.  See it.
