Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 4, episode 12, "A New Man":-Synopsis-Initial reactions-Happy birthday, Buffy!-This could have been the worst birthday ever.-Walsh vs. Giles: Does Buffy actually lack a father-figure, or was Walsh just hitting below the belt?-Giles may not have handled this confrontation very well.-The Giles/Buffy dynamic: Do we feel badly for Giles this episode?-Does Walsh have ulterior motives for wanting Buffy in her ranks?-Riley has killed 17 demons/vampires. Buffy killed 17, like, last night.-Willow and Tara sense another source of power. Was that Ethan?-Ethan gets caught monologuing, and then Giles and Ethan go bro out at a bar.-Demon Giles. So many thoughts.-We discuss whether we were actually scared for Giles' well-being.-So many Spike thoughts. It only has bad consequences.-Those egg things from the beginning are seemingly completely unrelated to the giant demon at the end.-Vinnie Van Lowe is not to be trusted.-Dennis was trying to protect Cordy!
