He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for Tender Mercies (1983), and received an Emmy nomination for his role in the CBS miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989). Brian remembers his connection to Robert Duvall:Rev. Jesse Jackson: The two-time presidential candidate and civil rights leaders, died this past week. Brian remembers him running for president in 1984 and 1988.
