Episode 18 — Acts 18: Do Not Be Afraid
from As It Is Written Hosted by Athena Vetterick
Acts 18 — Paul alone in Corinth finds work, not a pulpit: tentmaking with Aquila and Priscilla, refugees from Claudius's expulsion. The synagogue ruler Crispus believes; the Lord speaks in a night vision — 'Do not be afraid... I have many in this city who are my people'; and before Gallio's tribunal, Rome shrugs and the gospel gains legal cover, while Sosthenes is beaten on the courthouse steps and later turns up co-signing Paul's letter. A vow, an 'if God wills,' and Apollos — eloquent, mighty in the Scriptures, and quietly completed by two tentmakers.
