Episode 18: FemTech - a huge, international market potential

from Helseskift - framtidas helsevesen · host SFU Engage

This episode is recorded in English, as we have the honour of having Amanda Baum visiting from Germany. Amanda is a researcher at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), soon defending her PhD thesis about FemTech. We discuss the gender data gap (incomplete research on female bodies as big datasets are based on "the average man"), and the huge market potential for entrepreneurs to develop healthcare solutions for female bodies. We also explore what we can do to focus on female health in our everyday lives - both in our personal and professional relationships, wether we work in e.g. healthcare, higher education or research. The podcast called Helseskift (health shift) focuses on healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship and intrapreurship. Developed as learning material for higher education, this podcast brings the stories and voices of healthcare professionals, teachers and researchers who emphasise change in healthcare. The podcast hosts, Thea Eng Brenden og Gunn-Berit Neergård (PhD), are nurses and business developers. For every episode, they invite new guests that can share their experiences, research or tools to develop new ideas for healthcare. The podcast is developed and produced by Engage - Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. We have also developed a continous learning-programme for healthcare professionals wanting to develop new ideas while being employed. Check out IØ6602. The course is run in Norwegian.Kontact Thea: 97891188/[email protected] if you have suggestion to guests or topics for our podcast. The podcast is edited by Peter Nystøyl.
