Episode 18: Financial Fears and Feeling Fine - Judy Talks with Catherine and Karen from My Divorce Solution

from Judy Talks - A Podcast · host Judy Talks - A Podcast

Some months ago I made a very short, tongue-in-cheek tiktok that was a shout-out to all the people out there looking for the love of their life but don’t date because they still live with their exes due to financial reasons. It was just a little video poking fun at myself. The reaction that little video got was NOT something I expected. And the thing was, people weren’t responding to the dating part of it…the majority of comments were from people who were just like me; separated but still cohabitating with their ex because they can’t afford to live on their own. That prompted me to have a chat with Catherine and Karen. Catherine is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CFDA) and trained mediator while Karen has a paralegal background and acts as a legal liaison for their clients. Both women are divorced and know how awful the whole experience can be from an emotional AND financial standpoint. Honestly, I’d like to have a series of episodes with them because there is so much to talk about when you’re ending a marriage or common-law relationship. And on a personal note, I suck with money and I’m awful with numbers. I’m not afraid of much but shit…when it comes to my finances, my brain just shuts down. BUT, after recording this episode, I’m not as terrified. On this episode of Judy Talks, Catherine and Karen from My Divorce Solution.
