Episode 18 - Princess Mononoke *Listener's Choice*

Acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki makes his debut on the podcast with the universally lauded animated epic, "Princess Mononoke."  This fantasy film tells the tale of proud warrior Ashitaka who is wounded by a demon early in the story.  Believing he will die from a curse, he travels the land in search of a cure.  Along the way he gets involved with a feud between a village of human dwellers and the denizens of a spirit forest, led by the titular character, San.  To complicate things even further, Ashitaka develops a bit of a crush on the princess..."Mononoke" marks Phil's first experience with Miyazaki, who has made several animated films that have scored high on the coveted Top 250 on IMDb.  Even Roger Ebert has claimed Miyazaki's breakthrough film as one of his Top Ten films of all time!  Listen as Andrew and Phil dish about this international sensation known to us as "Princess Mononoke."
