After a brief introduction we start out with Chris’s research (he’s getting his PhD now) including the what’s, why’s, and how’s he’s looking at with asymmetries in athletes. This runs us right into what Dr. Maloney has seen with his research and what he’s seeing in the gym along side it with training the athletes he gets to work with. Dr. Turner then discusses with us the statistical anomalies that occur with these asymmetries and how strength capacity is so important in looking at the difference in the limbs. We also discuss the role of functional adaptations when it comes to asymmetries in athletes, the role of the task in identifying asymmetries, the effects of competition on them, and the role in bilateral and unilateral training.
