Episode 180 - Renfield (w/Ms. Filmingo)

from Talkin' TV

What's going on guys! This was more of a casual fun week, so naturally, Nicolas Cage had to be involved. Dom sits down with Kristen aka Ms. Filmingo to talk about Renfield, the strangest of premises wherein its a Dracula film from the perspective of his hapless assistant Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) who wishes to break free of his masters evil control while also attempting to redeem himself for the years of hurt he's caused people by serving Dracula (Nicolas Cage). He attones for this by commiting acts of heroism with the powers he's acquired from the aging vampire, but this only brings him into a brewing police-mafia conflict, in which officer Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina) is attempting to take down the crime cartel that killed her father, led by Teddy Lobos (Ben Schwartz) and his mother Bellafrancesca (Shohreh Aghdashloo). It's a confusing blend of tones to say the least, and it's all covered right here on the #talkintvpodcast
