Since 2007, shoes have been washing up on the shores of the Salish Sea containing human remains, much to the shock of beachgoers who discover them.  Speculation swirled as the first few discoveries were only days apart, and other shoes were found to be matching pairs; these are the Salish Sea Foot Discoveries.
