Florence writes the weekly Front Burner and Off the Menu columns in the Times, as well as the Pairings column, which appears alongside Eric Asimov's monthly wine reviews. Florence is also the author of 12 cookbooks, and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College, with an M.A. in French from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Florence holds L’Ordre National du Mérite from the French government, and is a member of Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America.
