Episode 183: Why Are Abusers So Weird? This Is How Pedophiles Think

from The Speaking Out on Sex Abuse Podcast · host Jimmy and Clara Hinton

On December 19th, 27 year old Tyler Henegar, a registered sex offender, shamelessly broke into a little girl's apartment and was caught wearing nothing but the little girl's shoes. This Cinderella was chased out of the house by the girl's mother and was later apprehended by police. And remember Captain Underpants, the perverted colonel from Canada who flew Queen Elizabeth around? He broke into dozens of women's and little girls houses, stealing hundreds of pairs of their underwear and bras. He photographed himself wearing the underwear, and wore underwear from girls as young as 9 years old. He was later arrested when 2 women went missing and, tragically, their bodies were found. Not only did this colonel murder the women, he also filmed himself doing it. There is good reason why we argue that pedophiles should never be near children. Their minds are warped and this is how they think about children. Aside from the murders and break-ins, the other scenarios are not uncommon. Pedophiles do very strange things with their victims and often have multiple paraphilias (a condition characterized by abnormal sexual desires). This is how they think about sex and children. Churches that are quick to embrace sex offenders REALLY need to reexamine why. Are these really the people we want sitting within view of our children?
