Episode 19

from China Cat's Classic Rock Albums Podcast · host China Cat

America - America   A huge hello to all my listeners!!! It's been a while since I've posted I know. Unfortunantly I have had some problems with my set up but I'm working it out and soon enough I will be posting on a more regular basis. I hope that most of you have had the chance to download prior shows due to the fact that I am running out of space and I will have to delete prior episodes :( Eventually that won't be an issue though for I will be turning this into a live stream show so stay tuned for that! Please remember  to download episode, share and feedback :) Now on with the show, today I will be posting America's first album America! Released in December of 1971, this album went all the way to number 1 on the American Billboard charts and stayed there for 5weeks, pretty amazing for a break out band. The song that really catapulted them into the main stream from this album was "Horse With No Name" I always thought that this song was a Neil Young number for they sound so much like him and funny enough this album was the  first to knock "Harvest" out of it's number 1 position in March of 1972. At times I find they also have a CSNY kind of vibe to them which is also the attraction for me, anyway I hope you all enjoy this Friday post, I'll try to have more regular posts soon and the mic up and working! Your listening to China Cats Classic Rock Album Podcast! xx Track Listings: 1. Riverside* 2. Sandman 3. Three Roses* 4. Children* 5. A Horse With No Name 6. I Need You* 7. Rainy Day 8.
