Episode 19 - Amanda Erlank - Kinected Pilates Studio

from Raising the Bar on the Future of Pilates · host kimpaxtonpilates

Welcome back to Episode 19 of Raising the Bar on the Future of Pilates. Today I have the pleasure to sit down with Amanda Erlank of Kinected Pilates Studio in Peregian Beach, Queensland. Amanda has had her studio since 2015 (Happy 10 year anniversary of your business!) and has been teaching Pilates since 2009  She is Polestar Pilates Diploma and an educator with Polestar qualified as well as a Level 3 Franklin Method teacher and holds a diploma in Oriental therapies and Shiatsu. Amanda is also the founder of the MentorME program which offers guidance to Pilates teachers who are looking for support to further develop their skills in the studio. So I’m looking forward to chatting with her about how the mentorship works and how it benefits the Pilates community. Amanda is passionate about continuing education and the value it brings to your teaching skills and longevity as a teacher and we’ll be talking about that some more as well. In the interview, we talk about: How a Mat class in a Gym sparked a curiosity about the Pilates method Her early years of teaching and the creation of her studio  Her MentorMe Program, an online group mentoring to help connect Pilates teachers together to create support and continual learning  Moments when Amanda has felt isolated as a new studio owner Her thoughts about the importance of continuing education and why it is so important to invest in yourself as a teacher.  How she feels about the current state of the Pilates industry   To get a hold of Amanda: kinectedpilates.com.au And on Instagram:  @kinectedpilatesstudio   Amanda mentions: Kwik Brain with Jim Kwik Dr Robert Melillo:   More about Amanda: Amanda Erlank is a Holistic Movement Specialist, full of passion in various topics, beliefs, industries and protocols. She loves natural living, Eastern philosophy, particularly meridian therapy, movement that makes life easier to live, but possibly her strongest desire is to share knowledge with clients and fellow Pilates instructors on the body's exceptional design. She pulls from resources that she has gathered along the way through her learnings in Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies, the simplicity and essential knowledge obtained from being a Franklin Method® Educator, a Pilates Teacher Trainer and a small business owner in the realm of health & wellness. Her mentorME membership is designed for all Pilates instructors, whether new, solo or seasoned, as a collaborative destination for community, learning, movement and anatomy enhancement.
