EPISODE 19: SARAH

Sarah's dad gave her a shot of Goldschlager liqeur when she was 12 years old. Now, 26 years later, after losing her mother to heart disease and her sister to an overdose, Sarah finds herself struggling with her relationship to alcohol. She is currently studying for a career in counseling while also raising a tween, jobs that take up enough time and energy to distract her from her own pain, but still she knows she needs to heal. Should she go to rehab? What's best for her daughter? Renee sorts out the strands of trauma and addiction and helps Sarah forge a path to wellness. As they wade through the pain of the last few decades, Renee and Sarah somehow find the humor at almost every turn.
