Today we will talk about the state assessment, the STAAR, which stands for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, and is a series of standardized tests used in Texas public primary and secondary schools to assess a student's achievements and knowledge learned in the grade level.We will chat with Stacy Maxwell, our district testing coordinator, on the testing logistics for the campuses.She will also talk about the way for parents to best prepare their children for the test weeks in advanced.Dr. Mann, our Special Populations Coordinator, will also come back and talk to us about the testing of our special populations, the laws around that and the accommodations and modifications we are allowed to offer our special population children.Matt Nielsen, our IT manager for Legacy will talk about the online testing and how we prepare for it. The Texas Education Agency is moving in the direction of testing totally online in the future.
