Episode 194: From NYC to UCLA Students Fight Genocide in Gaza & Against Vicious Repression

from The RNL — Revolution, Nothing Less! — Show · host The RNL Show

This week the RNL Show comes at a time of great change and tumult, in the US and in the world as a whole. It is a time of students rising up on the campuses against the vicious genocide that Israel is committing against the people of Gaza, with the full backing and conscious complicity of the United States government. It is also a time when there has been a vicious, violent crackdown on these students. Co-host Sunsara Taylor reports from UCLA's Gaza Solidarity Encampment after it was attacked by pro-Israel Zionists. Then we'll take a look at the 2000 arrests of students nationwide in the past 2 weeks, and an update on LAPD's brutal assault on the UCLA Encampment and the arrests of students. Next, Why is the U.S. violently repressing pro-Palestinian students on college campuses across the U.S.? Why are both of the major U.S. political parties strongly backing the genocide in Gaza? Bob Avakian Answers (an excerpt from @BobAvakianOfficial REVOLUTION 27) We'll hear Noche Diaz, spokesperson for the RevCom Corps for the emancipation of humanity, speaking with Andy Zee on the rallies and celebrations that the RevCom Corps is holding May 4 and 5, for Revolutionary Internationalist Mayday, and why everyone should be part of these. Then we hear from Bob Avakian, the leader of the revolution and the architect of the New Communism, on why it is right to want revolutionary state power, and what this state power is good for. This is from the Bob Avakian Interviews, available on the YouTube channel, TheRevComs, and at revcom.us. We close the show with a special alert: the artist Toomaj Salehi, who was just sentenced to death by the rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was targeted for his defiant, powerful music, and his fierce stand with the people who rose up in Iran two years ago, against the forced hijab and all the violence that is carried out against women, and all the oppression that is built into that fundamentalist, reactionary regime.   Watch this episode on YouTube.
