Episode 2: Demolition Man
from CinaCult Podcast Hosted by Cordell Caulkins & Lucas Garges
Is it cold in here or is it just me? This week on CinaCult we discuss Sylvester Stallone's dystopian action film Demolition Man (1993)! After being wrongly convicted, LAPD cop John Spartan is cryogenically frozen in prison. 36 years later, he is thawed out by Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) and the pacified LAPD to hunt down career psychopath Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) with whom Spartan has shared history. Can Spartan bring down Phoenix while fitting in to a society that no longer needs a hard as nails cop? Can he uncover the mystery of this new peaceful society created by Raymond Cocteau (Nigel Hawthorne)? Why are all restaurants in 2032 Taco Bell? (or Pizza Hut?) Join Cordell and special guests Newty and Jake the Snake of NFW Horror Commentary and Unholy Mofo's to find out! Got a movie request? Email us at [email protected]! We are also looking for 1 or more permanent co-host(s). Music in this episode: "Demolition Man" by Sting and "Send a Maniac" by Elliot Goldenthal off the Demolition Man Soundtrack.
